Being a member of the Association of Critical Heritage Studies will connect you to a network of thousands of scholars and practitioners from more than 80 countries. The association members are dedicated to promoting and developing heritage studies as a social, cultural, economic, and political phenomenon and as an area of professional or governmental intervention from a perspective of sustainability and social and cultural equity. The members of the ACHS actively contribute to that movement that broadens and strengthens heritage studies.
As a member, you will also be able to:
Participate to the Association’s biennial conference;
Vote in ACHS elections and partake in its General Assemblies;
Join chapters or networks based on your interests;
Receive the Newsletter of the Association and the Newsletters of its chapters;
Receive, disseminate and access relevant announcements about publications, events, employment and funding opportunities within the critical heritage studies field;
Be eligible to appear as a member on the Association’s directory of members and to network with more than 3000 other members;
Access to the full data of the Association’s directory of members.
All members can unsubscribe from mailing lists at any time; a complete closure of a Member Account can be arranged via the Contact Page.
The membership fees support the Association’s website, newsletters, and other media used to communicate with members and through chapters and networks. They will also enable the Association to develop and mobilize knowledge and practice through awards, bursaries, and scholarships.
The Association of Critical Heritage Studies (ACHS) is a network for scholars and professionals in heritage and related fields; its success is driven by the input and efforts of our Members. In order to ensure the success of this network, we expect all Members to provide: their full name, email, phone number and postal address (both can be set to private), a short profile description, a profile picture, and an indication of their fields/areas of research interests. This information is stored in the Membership Directory, and enables ACHS to be an active, collaborative community. To achieve this goal, the ACHS Executive Committee reserves the right to revoke individual Members' participation in the Membership Directory, particularly under circumstances of spamming or other activities not in keeping with the spirit of the Association's principles and aims as a professional and scholarly network. The Executive Committee also reserves the right to revoke membership if there is concern about the validity of the registration
